Itinerary / Les Arcs sur Argens - La Tournavelle

Waymarked trail (purple orientation arrows)

 

• Begin this walk from the main car park and go onto the tarmac road heading north (163 yards).

• Stay on the path as it curves to the left until you rejoin the Tournavelle track.

• Head downhill (for about 1 mile) in direction to the Apie de Raybaud junction. Keep the “Apie de Raybaud” trail to your left and follow the pathway onto your right.

• After about 545 yards, leave the Tournavelle track and start following Estelles trail.

• from the Pervanquier place name, you start walking through a pine forest (1.24 miles).

• After about 1 mile, you soon reach the so called Verne Valley.

• From the Caillandres place name you soon start walking through a forest.

• Onto this trail, head downhill for about 1.24 miles through the Carementran Valley.  Continue to follow the trail as it goes through another wood, for about  1mile.

• Follow the trail as it goes uphill until you are coming across the Tournavelle trail.

• After about 225 yards,  leave the Tournavelle trail. Follow the path onto your left as it goes downhill  through the valley until you come across the Argens River banks (325 yards)


• Follow the river for about 981 yards  until you come back onto the Tournavelle trail. Follow the tarmac road  that branches off the trail and follow it up to the carpark.

Access to the waymarked trail

• On the secondary road DN7,south of Les Arcs city centre, go onto Chemin du Bac pathway ( signpost “community forest”) and keep ahead for about 1.86 miles.
• Park your car at La Tournavelle carpark, between the 2 bridges, just after the Argens bridge, and just before the Ailles bridge.
