These old stones have stood the test of time. They tell us a lot about the beliefs and practices that stretch back a thousand years in this region. They also tell us about the old mills, restanques and the olive oil which today still delights the taste buds. They also serve to highlight the region’s agricultural history.
It sounds as if old bastides were singing among the vineyards. Old manufactures are there to explain how the original ceramics was made. Rural chapels – acknowledged as historical monuments – remparts and campaniles bring us back to the middle age period and the so called oppida, on top of hills, remind of our ancestors, the Ligures. Dolmens and menhirs take us back to the very beginning of History.
